C & K Brisbane

posted 29 May 2012, 09:42 by Doug Fargher   [ updated 29 May 2012, 10:03 ]

C&K are a 100 year old association with 400 early childhood services.
Over the weekend I presented Bush Kinder to a an appreciative audience at C&K's conference in Brisbane. I also managed to meet some inspiring people.
On Sunday I had lunch and a chat with elders Aunty Gina Archer [chair of the Queensland Indigenous Education Consultative Committee] and Uncle Albert Holt [Chair of the Searchlight Education Board, and integral in establishing the Murri Court] What a privilege!

Tim Gill's keynote was a highlight. He gave mention to our Bush Kinder, and came along to listen in on one of my sessions. I felt very proud of us!

Throughout the year the DPA holds special “just for kids” events, including spotlighting and bonfire night. These events are free for Junior Rangers. Junior Rangers are also encouraged to come along to Park Care Days and learn about planting trees and keeping the park environment clean and healthy. Other fun activities include the Catch- a-Carp Day.
