Enrolment Process for 2024

The enrolment process for 2024 is about to begin.  You may have already been advised by Central Enrolments about your 4yo offer for next year. 3yo offers will be sent to families by late August.  The process for enrolment will be completed over two stages.  Stage 1 is the completion of an Expression of Interest ("EoI") form which will be forwarded to you shortly, and Stage 2 will be final completion and submission of your enrolment form.

We are expecting a high demand for some of our groups, and as such, this form will give us an indication of how to manage and allocate each family's needs.  Should the demand exceed the capacity for any given group, then a ballot will be conducted, but we will do our best to keep your preference in mind.

Completing the EoI does not guarantee you a position in your preferred group.

Once EoI forms have been returned, and group numbers have been indicated, you will be notified of whether you have received your preference, or if a ballot is to be conducted.  Should you wish to remain in the ballot, there is no need to contact me, but should you wish to be excluded (and perhaps pursue other options), then you will need to contact me.

Should you have any further queries, please feel free to contact me on 0419 899 221.

Darebin Council allocate kindergarten enrolments for the municipality through a centralised list, so all initially enquiries are to be directed to them. Darebin Council recently reviewed the centralised list enrolment procedure. Families are now required to register their child between 1 February - 30 April of the year prior to them attending kindergarten. A priority of access and point system will be used in the allocation process.

Collaborative Partnerships

Children are most successful when families and educators share knowledge and practice and there are many opportunities for collaboration depending on your preference. Dates will be set each year marking formal occasions and include the following.

Parent/child/ teacher interviews, start of year

Our first opportunity to work together is during parent/child/teacher interviews at the start of the year. There is time for conversation between each individual family, children and educators; it is the beginning of getting to know each other and finding out what to expect.

Parent/child/ teacher interviews, mid year

These interviews follow the same format; they provide time for reflection and ensure we are on course.

Parent/teacher/child bush kinder orientation

This orientation is an opportunity to become familiar with site and envisage the possibilities.
